On May 22, Chairman Han Jung-wha of the Korea-Israel Conference visited the Embassy of Israel in Seoul and met with Ambassador Akiva Tor. During this meeting, Chairman Han presented Ambassador Tor with his recently published book, "Israel, Hightech Powerhouse."
Chairman Han has conducted extensive research on the success of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at the university level, which earned him high recognition and led to his appointment as the Administrator of the Small and Medium Business Administration. Inspired by Israel's successful government-business partnership model, the 'Yozma Fund,' he implemented the Korean model, TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startups), significantly contributing to the growth of Korean venture companies. Motivated by the lack of in-depth research on Israel's industry and success secrets since the publication of "Startup Nation" in 2009, he undertook the task of writing this book.
Ambassador Akiva Tor expressed his gratitude to Chairman Han for highlighting Israel's strengths, stating, "At a time when concerns about Israel are growing due to the prolonged conflict, I am pleased to see the publication of such a book. I hope that once the situation stabilizes, Korea and Israel can fully develop the strengths of both nations."
Additionally, Chairman Han and Ambassador Tor have agreed to co-host a book launch event in June. The date for the event will be announced soon.
